What a booking website does

An online booking system lets a customer choose a time, a room or a seat on your website, confirm it and, if you want, pay for it online, while your calendar updates itself. For a practice, a salon, a guesthouse or a tour operator, it turns a brochure into a website that does some of the work.

Ours is part of the WordPress site, not a link to somebody else’s: your design, your web address, your pages and forms alongside it.

Appointments and sessions

Consultations, treatments, lessons and classes: services, durations, staff and hours, and an open slot the customer picks.

Appointment booking for clinics and practices

Rooms and accommodation

Availability calendars and minimum stays, or enquiry-first bookings you confirm before any money moves.

Payments

PayFast set-up is part of Professional. Whether a booking is paid online or on arrival is settled in discovery, and the customer gets a confirmation either way.

Rules that are yours

Buffer times, cancellation windows, blocked dates and seasonal prices. Rules that need their own code are custom plugin work, as most of our newer work is.

WordPress development

Booking work you can look at

Mediation in Motion Mediators (MIMM)

A not-for-profit organisation that connects accredited mediators with their clients. In 2024 we built it a complete booking management system, with e-commerce, online meetings and a catalogue of mediators. It also has recurring billing.

The MIMM website

GC Network

A genetic counselling practice. We built its site in 2019, with a custom appointment booking system built into it.

The GC Network website

Xscape4u

A tourism and accommodation site that takes booking enquiries and general enquiries, not confirmed bookings. It was referred to us after a compromise: we rebuilt the platform and delivered it clean, with encryption and Wordfence.

How we work

  1. Discovery
We map how you take bookings now: what is booked, what it depends on, deposits, cancellations. Professional is quoted before we start, from R25,000; logic that needs its own code is Custom & Systems, quoted after a free first discovery.
  2. Build
Built on WordPress and tested on a staging copy before it goes live. Professional includes moving your existing content across.
  3. Review
You test the booking flow as a customer would. Professional includes three revision rounds.
  4. Launch and look after
60 days of support after launch on Professional; after that, a care plan keeps the site updated and monitored, hosting included.

Frequently asked questions

Which online booking system is best?

The one that matches how you actually take bookings. Write down what is booked, what it depends on, whether you take a deposit, how far ahead people book, and what happens on a cancellation. The system that handles those five without workarounds is the best one for you. We build on WordPress so bookings, site and payments live in one place you own.

Does Google have a free booking system?

Not in your Business Profile. The profile gives you a booking button, not a booking system: under “Booking” you enter the web address the button opens, and Google also works with select third-party providers whose links lead to the provider’s own website (Google’s guide to managing your local business links, as at 28 September 2026). Point it at your own booking page.

How to create a free online booking system?

If a booking tool offers a free plan, check its own pricing page for what the free plan leaves out, where customers’ details are stored, and what it costs once you outgrow it. If you will be paying monthly within a year anyway, build it into your own website.

How to design a booking system?

Start with the booking flow, not the software: how a customer finds an open slot, what they must tell you, whether they pay now, and how they cancel; then what you see, approve and get emailed. A configured booking system that fits that flow is the Professional package; rules that need their own code are Custom & Systems. Bookings, memberships and client portals on WordPress covers the build-or-buy question.

I have worked closed with Claude and the Fyre team and its one of the easiest web developers to work with. He is attentive and responsive to requests at all times whether its email or Whatsapp.

He also does not pad his costs and so the service is value for money. I highly recommend Claude for hosting, web development and other services.
