Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
How fyre.co.za handles personal information, in plain language. The short version comes first, and the full policy follows it.
The short version
- The pages you read here set no cookies, and the site has no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking.
- If you send us an enquiry, we use it to reply and to quote. We don’t sell it, and we don’t add you to a mailing list.
- The contact page runs a spam check from Cloudflare. It looks at technical details of your browser and connection, not at what you type.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. You can also complain to the Information Regulator.
If this summary and the full policy below differ, the full policy applies.
Who we are
Fyre Interactive (“Fyre”, “we”, “us”) is the Johannesburg studio that runs fyre.co.za. We’re based in Midrand. This policy explains how we handle the personal information this site collects, and what you send us directly by email or phone.
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), as at 28 September 2026, we are the “responsible party” for that information: the one who decides why and how it is processed. Our postal address, as the responsible party, is Fyre Interactive, c/o TFS TecFin, Block B, 1st Floor, Gilloolys View Office Park, 1 Osborne Lane, Bedfordview, 2007.
Fyre is a one-person business, and its owner is its Information Officer. To ask about anything in this policy, to make a request about your own information, or to reach the Information Officer, use our contact page.
When you read the site
We checked every kind of page a visitor can read on this site on 28 September 2026. None sets a cookie, and none has analytics, advertising or social-media trackers. Apart from the spam check on the contact page, none stores anything in your browser, and every file the pages load, including images and fonts, comes from the site’s own server.
The site has no comments, no visitor accounts and no newsletter sign-up, so the enquiry form is the only place it asks for information about you. What you type into the search box goes only to the site’s own server, to find matching pages.
The server that runs the site keeps a log of the requests it receives: the IP address each request came from, the date and time, the page asked for, the page that linked to it, and the description your browser sends of itself. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure.
When you send an enquiry
The enquiry form on our contact page asks for:
- your name
- an email address or a mobile number, or both, so that we can reply
- what you need, chosen from a short list (optional)
- your message
With each enquiry, the site also records the page you sent it from, the date and time, your IP address, and the type of browser and device you used. These help us see where an enquiry came from and deal with misuse of the form.
We use your enquiry to reply to you, to prepare a quote, and to keep a record of what we discussed. It is saved in the site’s database and emailed to our enquiry mailbox. The site sends you no automatic email: we reply ourselves.
Sending an enquiry is voluntary. The form needs your name, a way to reply and your message, and it won’t send without them, because we couldn’t answer you. Please leave out passwords, ID numbers, card or banking details and health information: we don’t need them to reply or to quote.
When you email or phone us
If you contact us directly, we use what you send in the same way: to reply, to quote and to keep a record of what we discussed.
The spam check on the contact page
To keep automated spam out of the form, the contact page uses Turnstile, a check run by Cloudflare, Inc. It loads in a small frame from Cloudflare’s servers, on that page only.
As at 28 September 2026, Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum says Turnstile processes signals “such as client IP address, TLS Fingerprint, User-Agent Header and Sitekey and associated origin”. In plain words: your IP address, technical details of your browser and its connection, and which site the check is on. The addendum says the purpose is “not to identify, profile or target any individuals but solely to detect and block bots”. Cloudflare’s Turnstile documentation, as at the same date, says Turnstile “does not access, store, or transmit user communications, form entries, or other page inputs”, so it doesn’t see what you type. When you send the form, our site asks Cloudflare only whether the check was passed.
Cloudflare says it processes these signals on behalf of the website that uses Turnstile, which here is us. It also uses them to improve Turnstile, and for that purpose Cloudflare is responsible for them itself. When we checked on 28 September 2026, the check set no cookie, but it kept one small item in your browser’s storage that only Cloudflare’s check can read. Anything the check stores is Cloudflare’s, and as at the same date Cloudflare names the cookies its challenges can use on its list of Cloudflare cookies.
Who else sees your information
The companies that provide our hosting, email and phone services store or carry what you send us, on our behalf. Cloudflare sees only the spam check’s signals, described above, and never receives your enquiry. The form sends your enquiry to two places only: the site’s database, on the server that runs fyre.co.za, and our mailbox. It passes it to no other service, such as a mailing list or a marketing tool. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t give it to anyone else unless the law requires us to.
Information that leaves South Africa
The spam check’s signals may be processed outside South Africa. As at 28 September 2026, Cloudflare’s privacy policy describes Cloudflare as “a U.S. based, global company” that primarily stores information in the United States and the European Economic Area. It says that when it transfers personal information to another country, it will “implement appropriate safeguards, consistent with the laws of the territory from which the data is exported”.
How long we keep it
We keep an enquiry only for as long as we need it to reply, to quote and to keep a record of what we discussed, or for as long as the law requires. After that, we delete it.
How we protect it
The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), so what you type into the form is encrypted between your browser and the site. Enquiries saved on the site are kept behind its administrator login.
If we have reasonable grounds to believe that someone without authority has accessed or taken your personal information, we’ll tell you and the Information Regulator as soon as reasonably possible, as section 22 of POPIA requires.
Your rights
As at 28 September 2026, POPIA gives you the right to:
- ask us, free of charge, whether we hold personal information about you (section 23)
- ask for the record of that information, or a description of it, including which third parties, or categories of third parties, have or have had access to it; the Act allows a prescribed fee for this (section 23)
- ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date, incomplete, misleading or obtained unlawfully, and to delete information we’re no longer allowed to keep (section 24)
- object to our using it, in the cases section 11(3) allows, on reasonable grounds relating to your situation
- complain to the Information Regulator (section 74)
These rights can cover a business as well as a person. POPIA’s definition of personal information includes, where it is applicable, information about “an identifiable, existing juristic person”, such as a company.
To make a request, use our contact page. Before we give you any personal information, we’ll ask you to confirm who you are, so that it doesn’t go to the wrong person.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, tell us through our contact page, and we’ll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Regulator at any time. As at 28 September 2026, the Regulator’s complaints page explains how to lodge a complaint, and the Regulator’s contact page lists its contact details.

When the way this site handles personal information changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
